144.390 simplex is the national APRS frequency for the US

Put in a 100Hz tone squelch on your APRS frequency.  There's a protocol 
called "APRS Voice Alert".  The tone squelch will keep you from hearing 
any packet tones, and digipeaters do not forward the tone.  If you hear 
a packet burst, you know you have a station in simplex range.  Give him 
a yell on 144.39 and arrange to move to a voice frequency to continue 
your QSO.

Oh, and _I_ care about the accuracy of a GBU-12 if I'm hitting a hard 
target like a bunker.  (Sorry, ex-USAF Targeting type, the weapons geek 
just slips out sometimes ;-) )
