Dear Kenwood Customer:

Thank you for your e-mail and your support in Kenwood Products.  

Below is the instructions on how to put the TM-V7A in cross-band repeat.

1. Turn Off Microphone control (Press Menu and Select 16.1)
2. If you are the PM Mode, Press PM then Press VFO to get out of this
mode.
3. Select VHF frequency (example 146.670 - PL with Tone 131.8). Now
select 
   UHF frequnecy (example 446.000 simplex) UHF the TX main band. 
4. Now program your handheld to (example 446.000 simplex), UHF now the
TX main band. 
5. Press Cont Select Button (Cont Select is located between the two
volume controls) 
   the display above the VHF band will show ctrl. 
6. Turn Radio Off
7. Press and Hold the Left Volume Control while you turn the radio on.
Now above the 
   UHF band "PTT" will be blinking, and now Cross Band Repeat is
activated. 
8. To Exit Cross-Band Repeat Mode, repeat step 7

maybe someone knows the secret. I have tried and tried and it does
nothing, but PTT sits there and blinks it's little heart out.
