[Kenwood] serial number..how to read

I don't know if Kenwood has the same method on all HF radios, but for the 
 TS-2000, here's how to read the serial number (thanks to Laurie - G6ISY):
 
 Add 1998 to first digit for year
 next two digits are month.
 E.G. 612xxxxx was manufactured December 2004
