[Kenwood] TS-480 PLL Unlock problem

I just bought a new TS-480 and hooked it up for the first time.  When it
powers up the frequency is displayed for a couple of seconds, then there
is a 'UL' beep (indicating PLL unlock), then the frequency display
disappears.  There is never any sound from the radio.  Has anyone else
had this problem?  Is there anything I can do, other than return it to
the dealer?  Thanks.
