Hello,
I am having two problems with my 940. I am the original owner and this is
the first time that I have had any problems with it. The two problems are
as follows, as I know them:
1) Antenna Tuner: Tuner will not tune into a known good dummy load or
antenna below 9.194mhz. Tuner just runs and runs and can't seem to find the
lowest SWR? It tunes and works great from 9.195mhz up to 30mhz.
2) Mode: CW, Amps/Watts Out:
940 940 Meter Bird 43
Frequency IC Amps Watts Out
1.900 14.00 36
3.900 14.50 35
7.250 14.50 44
10.125 14.50 41
14.275 14.50 43
18.140 14.25 51
21.325 14.50 34
24.960 14.75 48
28.500 15.00 35
29.350 15.00 33
PWR Control at "10"
When I open the "FB" lead from the "AVR" board and verify the
current there and VR6 on the Control board is set to "maximum", I see the
following:
Weston or
940 940 Fluke 83 Bird 43
Frequency Mode Amps Watts Out
14.275 CW 4.5 35W
14.275 FM 11.5 170W
14.275 FSK 13.0 190W
14.275 AM 7.0 50W
PWR Control at "10"
The 28v supply tests ok. Any idea's or thoughts on either of these two
problems would greatly be appreciated.
