[Kenwood] TK705D to ACU1000

Anyone ever built the cable to control a TK705D with the ACU1000?

I am try attempting to adapt the pin=out for the TK760 to work with the 
705D.
I was told by someone that it would be very similar to building a packet 
interface and I have located a very simple keying circuit and hope that 
I can pull this off without releasing the magic smoke from the 705, but 
more so the ACU ...

Are there any items that I should pay particular attention to? Any 
suggestions or information are appreciated and if you would like to see 
the diagram for the 760 I can forward it to you off list.
