Joe,

The SM-220/BS-8 works great with the 940.  Just make sure you plug cable from the IF input on the back of the BS-8 into the 940's IF-1 jack, not the IF-2 jack which is for RX modulation monitoring.  If you have any more questions about settings, email me and we'll take this discussion off line.  The SM-220/BS-8 is a great way to visually check band activity.

Hi all,

    Here I am with another dumb question.  I finally decided to hook
up my SM-220 w/BS-8 to my TS-940S/AT that is now running like
new ever since the going over by John down in FL.  Well, I got 
the manual [both operating and service] manuals out and I cannot
find where it even mentions the 940.  I cannot believe that it cannot
be used with the 940 - am I wrong?  If anyone has the time, let me
know where I can find information re: hook-up procedures for
the 220 to the 940.
