[Kenwood] TS520, TS820s key jack question.

         Hi Gang,
      Wayne K9DI es Leader Dog Riot here.  This is my first post to the list 
and I'd like to introduce myself and then ask my question.  I am a full time 
University student (Western Illinois University) majoring in Broadcasting, a 
full time spouse and Dad.  I am also 95% blind and work with a trained dog 
guide.  The dog's name is Patriot, Riot for short, or Quiet Riot when he's 
sleeping...:)  No, he's not a "Seeing Eye Dog", That term is trademarked by 
The Seeing Eye Foundation Inc and legally can only be applied to dogs that 
have graduated from TSE in Morristown New Jersey.  There are about 15 
different independent dog guide schools in the country.  I chose to train at 
Leader Dogs for the Blind in Rochester Michigan.  So Riot is a Leader Dog, a 
trained dog guide (nomenclature used in the Illinois white cane laws), or a 
service animal.  Unless you know for sure what school the dog was trained 
the generic dog guide or service animal is the safest way to go.   Sorry, 
for the rant...:)  My favorite mode of operation is QRP CW, but I have a 
couple of QRO rigs if needed (TS520, TS820s).  I love those old beauties.  
They're built like TANKS, and they don't have any menus!!  I traded an 
IC706MkII (my first hf rig) for Ol' Betsy (my TS520) because as a blind user 
I got fed up with the bleeping menus on the MkII.
     Now on to my question,  A sighted friend of mine is building a 
Universal keyer adapter kit from Dale Botkin N0XAS for me and the question 
arose, does the 1/4 inch plug that goes to the back of the 520 or 820s need 
to be stereo or mono?  I'm hoping that since this is a Kenwood list an old 
timer can steer me in the right direction in regards to the correct plug 
needed.  Tnx in advance
