[Kenwood] IF-232C Interface

  I have a IF-232C interface connected to my 950SDX and computer too. When I upgraded to a newer computer last year all I had was USB ports available. I had to buy a couple of USB serial adaptors (IO Gear Model UC232A) available at most Best Buys and many computer warehouses on the internet. Once connected and the drivers installed works just like a serial port. The program I am currently using to work and log my contacts is Logger 32. I like it and it took a little time to setup the com ports but after getting it running makes logging a blast now, something I missed since Kenwood Ham Windows disappeared years ago. I also have another USB adaptor to run DX packet and it controls the radio with just a click when I see a DX spot I haven't logged. In this program there is the availability to control a second radio and as soon as I get time I want to tie it in to my TS-850SAT. As far as locating used IF-232C's I found my second one for $32 with the 6 pin DIN cable. Plugged it right in to my 950 with no problems. They are great little converters. 
   There are a load of  software programs on the net that can do exactly what you want in controlling the radio(s). You might try a few like I did before deciding. I had fun playing with 4 others and it was hard to settle on what I am using now.....Good Luck!
