[Kenwood] TS-950 SDX CW filter question

Hi All:
After working the NAQP contest using the TS-950 SDX, I have come to the  
conclusion I need to figure out a better configuration or get some better  
filters.  I have a TS-870 which does a much better job on cw.
 
This is what I have in the 950 set up for cw operation:
 
8.8            455
2.7            2.7
1.8            500
500           250
 
The best configuration with what I have seems to be the 1.8 with the  2.7.  
Anything else is either too sharp or not sharp enough.   What am I missing?
 
All Kenwood filters.  
 
 
Any help  would be greatly appreciated.
