[Kenwood] Kenwood D700a and Garmin GPS question

I have both the D700A and a Garmin GPS3 in my vehicle.
I have the outside antenna for the Garmin.
I power the Garmin from a cig adapter that has the little round rubber fitting that fits 
on the pins of the jack on the back of the Garmin.

Here is where my problem arises.
I obviously need to connect the Garmin to the D700A.
But unless I'm way off base, I need to use the same jack that the power uses.
So how have any of you overcome this obstacle.


What I need is some sort of 'pass-through that would plug into the G3 with a cable to the 
D700 and then the power cord would piggyback on that.

Is there such a critter, or what is a non-destructive modification that is available.
