Greetings to all!

As of today I am a grateful new member of the Net! I will be even more
grateful if my fellow hams come up with an answer to the following dilemma! My
poor TS-820 appears to suffer from a "motor boating" AF-AVR board. More
specifically, Q3, AKA TA7201P, MAY be the source since all discrete components
have been replaced or eliminated as culprits. However, Toshiba sees fit not to
make Q3 any more and now Kenwood's replacement kit (part # W05-0257-00) is no
longer available either! Alas, no Toshiba part, no Kenwood kit, no Kenwood
AF-AVR board. Now, have any of you out there in ham land run into this heart
rending situation? If so, pray tell what to do? How about them big thick
National, NTE, RCA, ECG or other semiconductor books us old guys usta use back
in the 70's to match the pin out on the schematics when the parts list only
showed p/n's that didn't have any replacements! Might one of you have a sub
book that may contain a suitable amp sub for Q3? Would appreciate any info
that would give me an alternative to using my 820 as a boat anchor So how's
about it, can someone suggest what to do about Q3?
