I have a TM-732A that I am having a difficult time with. This radio had
been out of service for about two years
while I was waiting to replace the 2-meter RF module (for the third time).
When the module failed, the 2-meter
RX was working properly.
I recently decided to replace the PA module, only to find out that now I
have a RX sensitivity problem. The main
2-meter RX has about 2.0 microvolt sensitivity, and the aux 2-meter front
end (located on the UHF RF board) takes
about 30 microvolts to quite. When I feed the aux front end at the
connector connecting the rf boards together,
the aux front end has about .8 microvolt sensitivity. Both the main and aux
UHF RX front ends have good sensitivity.
I just ordered and changed the Dual Gate FET in the RX front end (Q1,
3SK184) without any change in the problem.
I have also checked the diodes in the antenna switch and they are both OK.
Thanks to anyone who can help.
Troubleshooting this receiver is almost impossible due to it's
construction. 73,
