I have never operated MARS or freeband with my rigs, but I have modified
most of them. Modifying rigs is one of the things hams traditionally do,
and the wideband mod is one of the few mods we can make without having to
be an electronic genius.
By the way, I think the term "freeband" refers to the illegal frequencies
some operate on around the CB band, but the term could have changed.
