[Kenwood] Question abt TS-850SAT

the early 850s (below 2 million i think) had chip problems and if you 
get one of those, there are these processor chips in it that may need 
to be replaced at some point.

make sure the internal memory battery BA1 hasn't leaked.  the stock 
battery is permanently mounted on a vertical board just behind the 
front panel.   why Kw soldered it in i don't know but a lot of hams 
have done a mod to move it to a more accessible place and installed a 
holder so BA1 can be popped out and a new one snapped back in.  if the 
stock BA1 leaks it will trash some circuits and be a pretty expensive 
repair if you ship the rig out.   I think there is more information on
