[Kenwood] [Fwd: Fw: Help save CW]

I am in favor of keeping the CW requirement NOT because I am a cw
fanatic. I use it when necessary or when the station I am looking to
work is using it... I use other modes at other times. I dont have a
"I had to so you do to" mindset.

My reasoning for keeping it is, as I said before, it is a DISCIPLINE
thing. Even if you NEVER make a CW contact after you are licensed...
and there are lots of hams that never do use it after passing the exam
.. it helps weed out those who are not disciplined enough to study
something hard enough to pass an exam. IF there is something else that
would function as that weeding out process, I am perfectly willing to
entertain the thought.... Even without the requirement, those who
enjoy it will use it... just like those who use digital use it even
though it is not a requirement to get a license. It is the PURPOSE
that I am thinking of .... NOT the nostalgia.
