[Kenwood] TS-930 serial numbers

 Has anybody ever nailed down how to determine the production date of a
'930?
 
There is a sticker on each of the fans indicating manufacture on 29 May
1984. The highest production date that I have managed to find on any of the
ICs is 8421 (21st week of 1984, also in May of that year). 

My unit is s/n 501xxxx. This suggests that the date of production was
probably the first week of 1985. Makes sense. It couldn't have been
assembled before the parts were produced!
