Model is TS-930SAT serial #4080206.


The problem is just as my nose suspected, the driver
transistors MRF485's, and the two 22 ohm resistors. I did a
search and came up with a mod from ON7WP which replaces the
drivers with FET's and some other parts are changed/removed.
Has anyone tried this mod? He also says to replace the
regulators Q1 and Q2 in the P.S. circuit "which are also
bad" but I prefer to test first before I start replacing
parts unnecessarily. I realize it is mainly a voltage
problem with the underrated 485's, but is there another
option other than the drastic change to FET's?

Is there someone out there who performs an upgrade for the
FINAL UNIT?
By the way, is Jose EB5AGV still around?
