[Kenwood] Oh no! My 930S smoked.

Well, for many years it has been the best rig I never use.
In the last 9 years, I have no more than a dozen contacts
with it. Have been using my classics. I turned it on to
check the time and turned around to the bench. Then I
smelled the smoke and turned around to see it billowing out
of the right rear. The mike must have had something laid on
the lock button of my MC-80. With all the junk on the desk,
it is no wonder it never happened before.

The antenna was not connected. I thought it had a protection
feature if the thing was keyed without a resonant antenna.
Anyway, I can fix it but the service manual does not have a
disassembly picture for the final unit. How in the world do
you get that darn thing out? I removed all the screws I
could find but it won't budge.

What is the most likely failure? I suppose it is the final
amps. Model is TS-930SAT serial #4080206.

Keep the glow!
