[Kenwood] Fox Tango Filter Instructions For TS-830S

I installed the FT filters in my 830 back in 1982, about a year after I 
purchased the radio.  You're correct, the receive performance was improved. 
 A friend borrowed my 830 with the FT filters and put it next to his 
"stock" 830, and was really amazed.

The big problem is, the filters really degraded the transmit audio.  Even 
if you made the mod to keep one of the Kenwood filters in line, the 
transmit audio became really thin.  You could tweak the carrier oscillators 
for high end or low end, but not both.

If you were only interested in contesting and DXing, the change was 
probably no big deal.  But if you used the radio for rag-chewing, the audio 
could become a bit tiresome to listen to.

I've never removed the FT filters from my 830, and the moment I put it on 
the air, the gang I normally talk to on 75M immediately recognizes that I'm 
on the 830.  Compared to my 850 or 870, the 830 is really tinny sounding 
with the FT filters.

I have one of these installed in a TS-830s and I really like the radio.  It
seems to hold it's own in contest and crowded band conditions.
