Well, for one thing, it would take a lot of money to mount a successful
court challenge. Then again, maybe they are planning something like that.
I hope so. you know, if every single American ham forked over 10 bucks,
they'd have millions of dollars to fund a legal challenge. But getting hams
to do that is like herding cats. Out would come the anti-ARRL talk, the
nutty conspiracy theories (it's secretly for Hollingsworth's retirement
fund), and the cheapskates (someone else will give them a lot of money; they
don't need my $10). 80% of all hams won't get it through their thick skulls
that this is a problem until it wipes out their own reception.
