[Kenwood] R 820 VFO Erratic

Hello,

I have a very nice R820S receiver that has a very erratic
VFO, must have dried grease inside and poor contact.

Has anyone removed this vintage Kenwood VFO's to clean and
re-lubricate??

I am capable and have all the tools, chemicals needed.  I
just need to no the easiest way to carefully remove it
and what visibly can be noted as the defect area of the VFO.
