[Kenwood] TS940SAT - troubleshooting questions

YAH-HOOO!!!!
I have never been so happy to find a foolish mistake! Thank you to the
many TS940 owners that asked me if I had checked the Timer switch! What a
lesson! I am so thankful for this list.
I am also appreciative of the advice and information regarding the AVR
board, and it may pay off one day to have become familiar with this critter
while it is working.
In case someone is watching this thread for info about the batteries, both
Digikey and Mouser have replacements (BR2032, with leads) that cost less
than $2 each. I expect that they will do fine in the place of the
originals. Now I still have to decide if I will replace the batteries as a
precaution, since I have done my homework and found that inexpensive
replacements are available. The other side of that argument is the
powerful warning, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" These are great words
that I have come to appreciate. How much trouble is it to change the
batteries?
