[Kenwood] TS-570S Modification

Has anyone here modified their TS570S to operate on 60 Meters?  If so,

1. Is the mod difficult?  Or should I say, do you need an electrical
engineering degree and several thousand dollars worth of bench equipment?
Oh, about how long does it take?

2. How do the radio and tuner perform on the band - or is an external tuner
better?
