[Kenwood] TS-850 remote connector

Hi all,

I have been trying to find a 12 volt source to operate a relay on transmit. 
Documentation states that pin 7 on the remote connector has +12 volts on 
transmit. My unit measures about 9.6 V and drops to zero when a relay that 
pulls 30 ma is connected.

Any thoughts on this?

Is there another source of 5 to 12 volts on transmit?
