Shouldn't be any problem Mike.  As I recall
when I was still at work, our purchasing people
with no knowledge of radios ordered a number
of 440's without tuners.  I ended up ordering 
some from the Kenwood parts place in Long Beach
and installing them - didn't take long, placement 
in the empty hole, hook the little cable and screw
into place with the mounting screws.
