[Kenwood] TS-850S Display Issue

The display on my TS-850S seems to be getting dim or fading in certain parts 
of the characters.  Example.....bottom half of numeral nine is not bright like 
the rest of the figure.  Filter display boxes show darkness along the bottom. 
 Sometimes it is dull and sometimes it is bright.

Any ideas?????????
