[Kenwood] TS940

Hi All

I have owned a TS930 for a number of years but recently acquired a TS940 from a silent key sale. I fixed a problem in the synthesiser which now appears to work fine but on switch on the Rx audio takes about three seconds to appear although the correct frequency appears on the display almost instantly. I wondered if this is normal for the 940?

The ALC appears to behave oddly on both AM and SSB and is certainly different to the TS930.

Any thoughts please? I have both the user and service manual and a reasonably well equipped workshop.
