The wideband mod has nothing to do with the power setting.

Greetings!

I am taking possession of a '430 that has had
the xmit "opened up" and also has the FM board.

I have heard that opening up the xmit on the 430
results in FM output going from 60 watts to FULL
output. IS this true? Can the FM output of the
430 be varied or turned down? Is there a mod?

I want to use this radio for ragchews on 10 FM
so I would not like to burn up the finals!

Any help would be appreciated...(8->
