Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can help with this problem I'm having with my
TS-940SAT, I can't afford to get it fixed but maybe some one can tell me if
it's easy enough I might try it or if it's even worth it. Symptoms, no RX
or TX, I turned the radio on the other night to talk to the locals and had
no RX, just a light hiss when I turn the volume up, changed antennas, no
luck, changed radios other radio works fine so I went back to the 940,
played around with a few things, after a while the RX came back but there
were strange noises in there from time to time. Now on to the next night,
last night. I turned it on, all seemed fine, I keyed up and threw my call
in with a group I frequently talk to, unkeyed the mic, no RX, I waited,
nothing, never came back so just in case I threw my call in and said "forget
it got a big problem". After a while I got a sound like scrambling eggs but
no voices could be heard including some one who's usually 10-20 over S9. I
changed radios and they said they never heard me on the 940. I tried it
several times during the night and same thing, nothing at all or the
scrambling eggs noise very loud but no sound beyond that, no voices,
nothing. I know I've seen this problem before, think I know what it is but
would like to hear from others as to this problem and if it's even worth
fixing when I do have the money which will probably be another 6-8 months.
Good thing I have a TS-570DG for a backup I guess, might have more room now
too.
