My Kenwood TS-711A went belly up just minutes ago. I went to turn it on,
and nothing happened when I pressed the power switch. I checked the line
cord, it is not open. I wiggled and jiggled the power jumper on the back panel.
I moved the 120/240 volt switch, just to make sure it's contacts weren't
intermittent. I checked for power on the rear panel, and there was no 12
volts there.
There is no fuse on the rear panel, so there is nothing to check with
regard to fuses (unless there are fuses inside the radio).
It appears that the 12 volt internal power supply just died, without any
help from me.
I do not have a Service Manual (or even an Operators Manual) for the radio,
so I have no way to know whether fuses are hidden inside the radio or not.
Does anyone know whether there are fuses inside the TS-711A?? If so, are
they 12 volt fuses on the power supply output or line power fuses.
Thanks,
Art
