The only "legend" is that the gold label is somehow different that the
silver..  It isn't!  The first production runs 1M s/n were silver.  I bought
one of the first ones out.  I've had a couple 2M s/n's that were gold so my
guess is they went to gold somewhere around the 2M s/n's.
