[Kenwood] 870 filter mods

Anyone able to tell me the comparison specs towards replacing the stock
filters with new filter for the Kenwood TS870s?  Do they work as well as I
have heard or are they allot of BS?

Would be interested in hearing from those who work cw and can give honest
comparable reports between the stock filters and the replacements and the
cost of doing so.

I have also heard that the stock filters work just fine as long as the FRO
gain control is utilized during reception eliminating the running water
sounds which are quite annoying with this rig.   After 6 years of ownership,
I'm still learning new things about this radio and would like to really
learn the top tricks and operating parameters with the unit as it is before
I spend any money needlessly.

Hope to hear from STOCK OWNERS who have learned how to operate this unit as
well as those who have made the supreme sacrifice towards replacing the
internal filters.
