[Kenwood] Notch Filter on the TS-440SAT

This is off the cuff, so if I'm sounding stupid, it's probably because I
haven't really thought this out...

Has anyone seen a mod for the notch filter on the TS-440? I'd like to make
it a bit wider. I've been running a lot of PSK-31 and there are
(unfortunately) a lot of guys out there with some nasty signals. The notch
filter does a pretty good job of clearing them out, but isn't quite wide
enough in some cases. I'm thinking that by increasing the width of the
notch, I might get a bit better results.

Of course, that assumes that the notch filtering takes place in the IF
stages and not the audio stages... If the filtering is in the audio stage,
the IF will continue to be swamped by the dirty signal and no amount of
audio filtering will bring back the rest of the passband.

Any thoughts?
