[Kenwood] Kenwood R-1000 Frequency Cutoff

Greetings,
I have an R-1000 which functions beautifully except that when I am switching
bands and go from 22 MHz to the 23MHz band the display goes directly to
39.545 MHz.  The frequency range of the radio is 200 kHZ to 30 MHz.
I can put the band switch in between 22 and 23 and use my manual dialer to
see the full 23 MHz . Other than that I am 'limited' to listen through 
22 MHz..
Any thoughts on a repair that may get this sentimental beauty back to full
working order? Thanks for your time.
