Hi Mark,

Have seen nothing at all on shelf life of Detoxit. I keep the lids
on mine and then put in a large zip-lock bag. I have a can that
has been stored like this for 3 Yrs, and it still works great !!

Yep, I restored a TR-4C with outboard VFO/Speaker few years
back. Detoxit and CaiLube did the trick on the old switches and
pots. Before I started using Caig, the best contact cleaner was
Radio Shack.  Back then, it was a mixture of mineral oil,
trichlorethylene (now banned since a carcineogen), and a
flourocarbon propellant (now also banned). I have a MFJ
300W tuner that I  used the old Radio Shack contact cleaner on
4 years ago and all the switches are still smooth as silk.

The Radio Shack contact cleaner now is worthless !!!

Anyone heard about shelf-life issues with Deoxit?  I asked the Deoxit guy at
Dayton last year, and he didn't know.

Deoxit is the best stuff I have ever used.  It can take a rusty TR-3 that
has sat in a garage for 35 years and make it sound like new.
