The filter is on a small board because the pinout doesn't match the board
layout. The circuit you mentioned is simply blocking caps to keep DC off the
filter.
There should be two short pieces of coax that go to the IF board in the
radio. Just connect them up. Did I mention you have to remove the stock
filter??

Does anyone have any info on older Fox Tango 88H21 filter as would apply to
a TS-820S. This is a solder-in unit with a small circuit board with
equalizing components.
