I have the same system set up:
Pin 13 to Gnd will cause TX
Use green to pin 3
White to pin 11
Shield to pin 12
Brown to pin 8
Red to pin 9
Using pin 9 will ground the mic at the front of the radio.
If you are going to try to use voice with the TNC connected you will
have distorted audio. The problem is mic impedance with the TNC and
MIC in parallel.
My solution is to breakout the 13 pin and use a relay and a foot
switch to open the white pin 11 wire connect the desk mic and ground
pin 13 for ptt.
This box is nearly finished but the rig is in the shop for other
problems.
I am assuming you have made the TNC mod to the radio

Subject: [Kenwood] Using TS-850 with PK232/DSP/PSK
I have a PK232 and connected the Radio1 port to the TS-850 accessory
port.
I used pin 13 for the PTT, but as soon as that Radio port is selected
the
radio goes into transmit. Anyone had a similar problem.
Thanks,
73,
Abe, WB8SOC
