Thanks guys for the DC-DC board info.  I'll look behind the f.p. and also at the websites that were suggested.  Much appreciated.

btw, re the intermittent flipping into transmit, I checked the BA1 lithium battery and fortunately it appears to be okay.  no signs of leaking etc.  I had heard on the air, that if that thing gets to the point where it's done damage, the rig is in pretty bad shape.
