Hi

Here is a quick reference for the vfo-240
since you don't have the manual.

1) RMT-R This switch means that the 240 is controlling
           the recieve frequency

2) MAIN This means that the 240 is out of line and the 530
            is controlling recieve and transmit

3) RMT This means that the 240 is in control
            of recieve and transmit

4) MAIN-R This means the 240 is controlling the transmit frequency
and the 530 is in charge of the reciever.

Settings 1) and 4) are used in split frequency operation

Settings 2) and 3) can be used for setting a different freqency on each
and switching between them: for instance I might want to cruise the ssb
portion of 10

meters and also keep an eye open on 17 meters so I might set the vfo-240
at 130 and the main rig at 450 and use the band switch and RMT and Main
on the 240 for a qicker QSY.

The T-F button is used when in split mode to confirm both transmit and
recieve frequencies. Set the VFO-240 to RMT-R hit the T-F switch while
watching the 530 display and you should see a change in the display
unless the vfo-240 and TS-530 are tuned to the exact frequency.
