I recently reported a display problem with my Ts-850s.
A common problem seems to be a leaking cap. 470uF on the display board.
On my board this one was in a fine state - no bulge or yellow
miscolour on the top, but to be on the safe side I had this one replaced.
The display will flicker when tuning the rig, showing more or
less of the seven 8-digits all the time.
Also the row of yellow indicators beneath the frequency digits are always
lit, and the filter indicators are also lit at random.
S-meter and alc - to the left on the display - are ok.
RX functions on the rig are ok - except for one thing:
when I listen to cw or ssb signals there seems to be a muting
of the signal. This muting, or interrupting, is very short, only
a fraction of a second, and occurs at random intervals.
Anyone familiar with these symptoms?
Pll VCO2 tp. 2 is ok: 5v.
Back-up battery recently replaced.
Carrier board has the 6631 chips, but symptoms does not, as far as I
understand, point in this direction?
