I have a Kenwood TH78A that belonged to a close friend of mine who is
now a silent key.......His spouse would like to use the radio and
brought it to me to teach her how to use it....(Yes she has a ticket or
I wouldn't do it) Bottom line is the radio hasn't been used much in
the past several years and I really think there is a bad cell in the
pack.....I can charge it for 24 hours + and it will work on high power
for a few minutes, and then if your not gonna use low power it is not
gonna transmit....Think I can resolve that one with some new cells as
when I run it on a power supply it seems to keep cooking.......Big
problem is I can't figure out how to enter things in the memory.....It
will take one frecquency in VFO mode and work fine...Hit the MR button
and freq is there but haven't been able to get anything stored...Have
checked the Kenwood site but this thing is too old and they do not have
the manual on line anymore....(Never could figure out why all the
manufactuers do that
,guess they think we'll all buy new radios every couple years..hihi).
Bottom line if someone could send me directions for programing memories
(simple please) it would be greatly appreciated......If it doesn't have
dials or thumb wheels I have to admit I am a little on the slow side but
know a lot of readers of this forum are a lot more up on modern
technolgy than I am.......TNX Guys & Gals......Off line replies are fine
so we don't clog the forum....
Best of 73's and hope you and yours have a Happy Easter,
