[Kenwood] TS-940SAT clock problem

I have a "new to me" TS-940SAT in the 51 million serial number group....
Overall, things appear to be working OK, all except the clock time on the
LCD display.

I am able to set the clock, however the decimal points between the hour and
minutes are flashing at what appears to be a very rapid rate.  I am assuming
that the flashing is supposed to coincide with the "seconds".  The clock
will gain a minute every few seconds... Any ideas?

I have seen traffic reference the serial number ranges for this radio - are
there any modifications or other info that would be helpful?  Thanks
