Greetings to everyone,

I was curious if there was anyone on the list that has a set of the
Kenwood 599 Twins that has added a digital frequency readout to them, or if
they already came with one. I was wondering where it would be connected in
order to properly work. I have recently seen a few inexpensive frequency
counters (which measure by being in line between the TX and antenna).
Obviously you would have to TX before you could see what frequency you were
operating on. I figure there is another way to tap into the VFO and get a
current frequency, but am unsure how the folks that have a display for their
twins do it.

Any ideas are welcome, since if the counters aren't that expensive, I
may just add one for the sake of precision and to complete the Twins. I
finally found a gold S-599, just purchased from Joe (K9LY) who is on this
list. I might add that Joe did an excellent job with the packaging (double
boxed and all) and description (it is in impeccable condition!). I would
not hesitate to buy from him again.

Finally, I am interested in finding the little clip things that hold the
lids of the radios shut. Most of mine are broken, and I am in the process
of considering a repaint of the radio cabinets due to the shoddy condition
(and so they match the perfect speaker) and would like everything else to be
in good shape too.
