    Kenny,
        I haven't had the need to remove or tighten the VFO knob set screw
on my 950SDX, but I would hazard a guess if it is an Allen screw, it WILL be
metric size. If the recess on the head of the set-screw has 6 flat spots,
it's Allen. Any more than that, it's Torx.
    And, yes, we call them Allen screws and Allen keys on this side of the
pond,  at least in Canuck land!!
