[Kenwood] Ts180 finale replacement question.

I have a TS180 Kenwood.
I think the finals blew.
Radio would not come on. Everything dead.
No lights.
I removed the hot wire from the finals and radio comes to life.
If I reconnect the wire to finals radio goes dead.
Question, has someone on the reflector replaced these finals. 
I have service manual. Is it a job that I could do myself or should I send the radio out?
The finals on the rig have never been replaced.
They are original.
This situation happened before.
About a year ago radio went dead but, when I disconnected the final main power wire and put it back on the radio worked again
for about a year.
Any help would be great.
