Hello All,
The digital readout went out on my 820s. I traced the problem to the vfo. No 5mhz
signal from the vfo. All the voltages were good Q2 thru Q4. Q1, 3sk22 I thought was bad.
Replaced with an NTE222, no go. After studying the board found a 1meg resistor added to G1
of the 3sk22 to make a sort of voltage divider biasing arrangement. This was not shown on
the service diagram. Also, the pin out diagram on the schematic for Q1 and Q2 did not match
the FET placement on the ckt board. Now the 820 was working fine so Im sure the parts were
in right. The 0v bias on the 3sk22 now is 4.2v with the added 1 meg resistor.
Anybody have any ideas?
