Hi all

Many thanks for all the replies.

Seems that I looked at the AC connector to the radio and was finding =
resistance between the two pins and the shell accounting for the =
"surprise", since the shell connected to the chassis.

The unit was shipped with the connector attached and got a little =
"squoshed". Took it apart and resoldered, putting heat-shrink tubing on =
the soldered wires. Putting it back together and checking the connector, =
did not find any resistance to the shell.

After plugging it in, measured from the chassis to  ground and found =
very little on one side and reversed the plug and found no trace of AC. =
I marked the plug as to which side goes to "neutral."

I will definitely replace the by-pass cap as I only see one (on the fuse =
holder (0.01/1.6KV)).
