No, it is not. In fact, it is by far the worst way to solve your problem. You
should concider using either a coax switch to select either one antenna or the
other as needed or, use an external duplexer to isolate the antennas and then
feed the common port to the radio. The common variety you'll find at most
Amateur equipment stores should work fine and yes, most duplexers (sometimes
called diplexers) are bidirectional.
