Can anyone tell me the correct polarity of the power plug that hooks to the nicad pack. It has three wires....

Red and yellow are common point on the battery, yellow to charging jack and red to on-off.

Black goes to the circuit board and to the end of L101 I think, which is fried. Anyone know the exact value of this component?

Looks like this repair job suffered a reverse polarity and I am just about to throw this thing in the can.
